Come see our latest exhibit, Rutherford’s Preservation: Successes & Losses, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM to 4 PM

This exhibit explores Rutherford’s architecture, like the Iviswold Castle, Schermerhorn House, and Maples Rooming house. See how these historic landmarks have been adapted to modern times, preserved, or demolished. Other important buildings in Rutherford’s history are highlighted as well in the discovery of Rutherford’s changing architectural landscape.

Williams Carlos Williams: Doctor and Poet

Updated as of December 2017

Our permanent exhibit is dedicated to former Rutherford Resident, Williams Carlos Williams (1883-1963). Author of The Red Wheelbarrow, and many other works of poetry, Williams also had a long lasting career as a physician. Come see the changes we’ve made to our collection preserving his legacy, including some of his theater materials pictured below.
